Dear Blog, 👯♀️ February 12, 2012
I don't have another old time journal entry until February 14. BUT, I just want to tell you about someone special in my life. Adrienne Chase. We have been besties since the summer of .....🤔 1997. The Titanic was the top movie, George Clooney was the Sexiest Man Alive, Southpark, Spice Girls, Tamagochi's and Teletubbies were the bomb.com Did I age ya a little? Ahhhh the 90's.... they were golden.
Anyhew, I met Adrienne at Boston Pizza 🍕in Cranbrook, B.C. She was the manager. I think. All I remember is that she was my boss. She could run the whole fricken restaurant with one pinkie finger. And it wasn't a little place. She was amazing at it. I, however, was not then and am still not, a multitasker. I struggled. We laugh about it now. How, I should not have been a waitress at that time in life.... wasn't the best fit. BUT, I met her!! So I'm thankful for that job. 🤘🏻
I met her just before she was getting married to her husband Justin. I was so honored that she asked me to read a reading from the bible for everyone at her wedding. Looking back though, (we also laugh about this now too) I could have worn a bra 😲, in a church, at her wedding. Meh.... details....🤷🏻♀️. I was more of "let the girls be free" back then..... wait.. who am I trying to kid? I still like letting the girls be free. Tay in the wind....... tay in the wind. (Jody Foster movie quote).
She also honored me by being one of my bridesmaid's in my wedding. She was the first person who saw the pee stick saying I was pregnant with Skye 👼🏻! Her and I were in their bathroom, in their cute little basement suite on Jim Smith Lake in Cranbrook. Life happened and they moved to Grande Prairie. But all was not lost.... shortly after they moved Ken announced that we were moving there too! We lived with them for the first little bit when we moved up here. Our daughter's LOVED it because they all were besties and all the same age.
Man have we had so so so many good times together. Not only did we become besties but our husbands became besties? too... are guys besties? So we did ALOT of everything together. Especially, since we didn't know people up here and all of our families were in Cranbrook and Canal Flats. We became family. An absolute 100% true statement.
Because of the pandemic, I haven't been able to see Adrienne very much... at all'ish. Which is why this blog got written. We have a bestie's group chat. Ok, it's actually called Crystal's Besties, because I am full of myself and it's all about me 😁, jk.... I wanted a group chat with all of MY bestie's so that I could chat with all of them, all of the time. Some of them didn't even know each other before this group was made and now they can't wait to actually meet each other face to face when the world pull's its head out of its ass. Small little chit chats and quick pics have become the way of communicating with them. So it was so refreshing to catch Adrienne on
today and actually see her face and chat about everything and nothing. Like, the second her face popped up on my screen, my heart jumped and I felt so good. Because I knew we were just meant to be right there, at that moment. To catch up on stuff that doesn't get put on our snapchat group. The conversations that just can't be typed out because of our old lady arthritis...
If any of you are reading this and you are thinking of buying a home in Grande Prairie... Yes, come to Grande Prairie where the weather is warm and it is never colder than -51😉. Sarcasm... I'm good at it. Seriously though, this lady IS THE BEST REALTOR IN GRANDE PRAIRIE. Because I know. Because I know how genuine and authentic this human is. And she sells homes because she actually enjoys helping people. She will always do her best to find you the home that you love ❤️. She is a gem. More people need to know about her. One of the kindest and best humans I share this life with!!
Who knew that our lives would be so connected from that first day at Boston Pizza?
Love you Banana ❤️
