-50 Musings. Aka. FUCKING COLD AS FUCK. FUCKITY FUCK. 😂

What does one do when it "feels like" -50? Nothing outside. But on this lazy, indoors Sunday afternoon we dream :)

We dream of what we would love to see and do still, in this lifetime. For us, that involves internet research about sunshine filled beaches🏖, with a side of wind. Yes, a side of wind, Ken. For those who do not know, Ken has a sickness. It started a few years ago when we travelled to Holbox, Mexico for one of our annual anniversary trips. The sickness came on so suddenly, I was blindsided. Little did I know at that time how much this sickness would actually affect our lives... mine in particular.

I believe there has not been an official medical term for this disease yet, so let's just call it Kitesurfitis.

Kitesurfitis can be characterized by an incessant, painful need for wind. Victim's usually have a wind phone app that they check regularly throughout every second of every day. Some have actually developed cross-eyes and arthritis of the thumb from these apps. They usually surround themselves with fellow victim's of this sad disease. From my personal experience, I believe this to be a coping mechanism that curbs all of the flack that comes at them from their family and "other" friends. On that note, family and friends may feel alienated from their family member who has kitesurfitis. Often times, family members are left on a beach, alone. For days. With only a beach chair, palapa and a bucket of cold wine.... wait đŸ€”, is that really bad?

My life has been forever changed by this sickness. All vacations and retirement plans now revolve around wind. And this disease is the type that persists all year round. And in any climate. The breeding grounds do not have to be found in a tropical destination. The spores can be found everywhere, even here, in Northern Alberta. The bacteria survive all climates. Victim's simply apply skis and snowboards to their feet and surf on the frozen lakes. For you families who are struggling for the first time with this ailment, it does not subside, it lives on in freezing temperatures. If you need support, my telephone number is 780-fml-help.

Hahahaha! đŸ€Ł. All kidding aside, I am thankful that he got hooked on the sport because I get to go to hot destinations more often than I would had he not found the sport!! AND the most important reason. He loves it. And I love seeing him enjoy something so much đŸ„°.

K. Gotta go make some homemade taco's đŸŒźđŸ€˜đŸ»đŸ˜œ
